F.A.Q.

I’ve created some answers to common questions. Click through the FAQs. If you still have questions, then please do get in touch below.

How much do you charge?

Consult the pricing guides on the specific pages to get an idea.

If you have something else in mind in terms of your requirements, contact me for custom pricing.

For 1-2-1 personal training, you’ll need to know when you’ll be available and if you can reserve that time for you to train.

If it’s takes place at the studio then factor in the journey time, and have a plan to get yourself ready.

do you offer refunds?

Typically, payments are non-refundable if sessions have started. There may be exceptional circumstances such as on-going illness, close family reasons, or changes with work for example.

It’s usually at my discretion. I’m here to help you – not rip you off.

Will i see results?

Everyone starts from a different place, so your progress will depend on your goals, starting point and consistency.

My job is to help you make steady, meaningful progress through a programme designed around your abilities, lifestyle and needs.

You don’t need to be fit before you start, and you certainly don’t need to get everything right from day one.

We’ll focus on building your confidence, strength and habits gradually, so the improvements you make have the best chance of lasting.

Many people benefit from working together for at least 8–12 weeks, giving us time to establish a routine, develop your technique and track your progress.

Where do you train 1-2-1?

For in-person studio sessions, I can see you at the private boutique ‘Trojan Fitness’ facility in Northwood Hills. It’s a lovely space, with far less people than a packed big box gym, with far more privacy and personal attention.

You don’t need a gym membership.

A second option may be training at your home provided you’re in reasonable distance.

What is your 1-2-1 personal training cancellation policy?

At least 48-hours notice must be given for cancellation of a scheduled session or it will be lost and payments will be non-refundable. Make the most of your sessions.

The reason I ask for 48-hours notice, is because I have to book the space in advance, on your behalf.

You need to have a plan on the difficult days to get it done. My advice would be – you’ll immediately feel great afterwards which is rewarding in itself – and it really sets you up mentally, to handle anything the day throws at you.

How often should I meet with you?

It depends on your goals, your starting point, your responsibilities and schedule, but most clients see me twice per week – with clients undertaking physical activity in their own time too.

How long is a typical personal training session?

Allow yourself an hour.

What should I bring to a personal training session?

Bring water, a towel, comfortable workout clothes, and supportive footwear.

Do I need a gym membership to train with you?

No, you do not need a gym membership to train with me. Save your money.

What should I expect at my Free trial session?

I’ll look at your movement, identify areas for improvement and take you through some exercises. This session is your chance to see if we click, and potentially could work together should you choose to. Allow yourself an hour.

I have a health issue / injury - can I still train?

It’s important you let me know about this before we start. Depending on the health condition, and / or the severity of the injury – you may need to be cleared by your GP or physiotherapist to exercise.

If it’s unclear, I may need to refer you to a health professional for them to evaluate.

I’ve worked with clients who have had certain histories where it’s still possible to train and we work around that, so it’s not necessarily a barrier.

Please let me know your health status upfront, and we can make a plan.

Do you offer payment plans?

Depending on the duration of the engagement, I can offer pay monthly in advance. With regards to the price, I try and offer value-for-money, and will do my best to help you manage the financial commitment.

How long does it take to get to the studio?

The studio is about a 10 – 15 minute drive from Northwood, Pinner, Eastcote and Ruislip – and there is a free parking nearby. The studio is 1-minute walk from Northwood Hills tube station on the Metropolitan line and 282 bus stop.

For in-person sessions in a private studio – typically I’ll be operating out of Trojan Fitness in Northwood Hills –

89 Joel St, Northwood Hills, Pinner HA6 1LU

The venue is a lovely private studio for exclusivity and personal attention away from the usual busy gym crowd – and you don’t need a gym membership.

On-street parking is available.

I can also visit you at your home if you live in Ruislip, Northwood, Moor Park, Eastcote, Pinner or Ickenham and nearby.

As well as a private studio or home visits, I offer hybrid online personal training – with you working out on your own schedule partially in-person, partially remote.

All of my nutrition work can be done remotely.
